About a month ago I took Alfie for a vet because his ears were quite sore & waxy.
We had check up two week after that but the infection was still there, so we continued his ear drops for another two weeks.
We continue Aurizon for Alfie’s right ear as long as there are drops left in the current bottle. Then he also gets cortisone drops for both of the ears as his ears are a bit narrow and little waxy.
It is not recommended for Alfie to swim daily as he has done now during the summer. Therefore he will get the pill for ticks. There rest of the gang will continue swimming after our daily walks. That has proven to be good enough way to avoid ticks for the past couple of years. We don’t seem to have too many ticks in this area. Also the cats have been almost tick free even though they don’t swim, just couple of ticks during the summer. The reason the dogs swim after the walks is that if there are ticks growling in the fur, they will drown in the water. I actually got tick collars for the dogs but because we sleep in the same bed and I’m sensitive to additives, I have not used them at all. They are still unused in the packages.
I will call the vet after two weeks and tell how Alfie is doing.
