Eddie, Wheathold Tom Kitten 10.4.2007 – 29.6.2018
Friday, June 29th, was a very sad day: It was time for Eddie to go to the other side.
Less than a month ago he was still having walks in the forest (video). A bit more than a week ago, I started giving him painkillers. I came home one evening and his was panting. He had double of dosage of Metacam and then normal dosage every day.
Then on Thursday, he got tired only after having a pee. Same in the evening. I desiced that if the same continues on Friday, I will let him go.
On Friday morning he went out, had a wee, and laid down to rest. We look at each other and his eyes told me it’s time for him to go now. So I called the vet and we were told to leave when best for us.
Eddie got up and went to car nicely.
The vet quickly checked him and said he most likely had a tumor that started bleeding. He was anemic because of that.
Then Eddie went to sleep and his heart stopped beating. I stayed for 10 more minutes and hugged and just pet him. I have read that there could be brain activity for 10 minutes after death. I wanted to be there for him till the end. He did not have to go alone, I was by his side.
Eddie had a good life. He was happy.
Not there is grief and memories. Grief will go away someday and memories will stay as long as I live. And then we meet again.
Thank you Eddie for being my dog.
