It was a wonderful 9 year period that there were no goodbyes.
But then things changed. It started with the goat Hilla in July 2017 followed by Elmo the cat in October and somewhere during that time also Lotta the cat who never returned home from her hunting trip.
February 2018 was very hard when Alfie left.
March was also difficult with Minnie and her extremely sore ear. She survived and for that, I am forever grateful and don’t care about the over €3.000 bill.
Then at the end of June, it was time to say goodbye to Eddie.
All these were old enough to go but it was sad as hell.
In January my sweet pet goat Aino had to leave due to neurological issues and she was less than 2 years. That was hard. It was the 6th loss in one and half year.
I thought that there would be a break now but I was wrong.
Kiia, the young cat. had a feline virus and she left us on Monday the 25th of March. She was 1,5 years old.
On Monday morning I noticed that she had an infection on her right eye so I called a vet and got an appointment for the afternoon.
She examined the year but something wasn’t normal with her pupil so she checked for more. Kiia had too much fluid in her stomach (ultrasound), her temperature was higher than normal (could be stress too) and there were all the symptoms of a feline virus. There is no cure. Also, she had lost 0.5kg since her last visit to the doctor and she was small (3,2 kg => 2.7 kg).
It was better to let her go as there would not have been many months left anyway. She couldn’t have had the normal cat life anymore. It would be meds, no stress, no going out etc. And, also there is the lovely cat Leevi who is still healthy. Hopefully not infected.
So we said goodbyes and then she was gone. She still lives in my memories.

Rest in piece.
