When Minnies was almost 1 year, she started to eat raw food. It has worked well until now at least.
On spring 2018, when Minnie’s left inner ear was removed, I briefly discussed the possibility of allergy with the vet. Minnie has very narrow ear channels, which I think was the cause of the problem plus my stress (Alfie died a couple of months earlier).
After the surgery, the itching stopped.
At some point, Minnie started to nibble her paws. She also had an east infection in her right ear at the same time. It was taken care of but her nibbling of paws still continued more or less.
At the beginning of the summer, she started to have Lamb & Rice dry food. So after many years of raw food, she was on industrial dry food. I noticed some kind of relief of the nibbling. Then I put her back on the raw food and I think the nibbling got worse.
There was an article/ad in social media about Cibau and I started to read. It was interesting and I also went to a website to read more + the reviews. They were very good. It is very good for dogs with allergies.
Even though I really don’t know why Minnie is nibbling her paws (Allergy? Stress? Something to do with her getting old?) I will give Cibau Fish & Rice a try. She deserves it.
Alfie was a dog who always reacted to stress by an ear infection. I could tell in advance that he is getting one soon. I only needed a stressful situation.
I will also buy raw lamb and maybe reindeer to Minnie. Lamb already seemed to help her symptoms.
To feed only industrial made food just doesn’t feel good. More natural the better. I have experience with this myself. I have been eating mostly natural food for almost 10 years. Not too much industrial made with all kind of additives. When you occasionally have eaten industrial food your body really notices it and not a positive way. I guess it’s the same with animals too.
Hanie is in season. Mickie notices it first of course. Then you just needed a white tissue to confirm it. Let’s see if Minnie will follow or is she still in once a year mode.
