My first experience with anti-barking devices was in 2006 when I got one for Ella. It helped a bit.
It was one of the neighbors then who said that my dogs were barking. After installing webcam etc I noticed that they did not bark too much. Only couple of wuff’s a day. Later the neighbor apologized and said it was not the real problem, she just wasn’t ok and blamed the dogs.
Now we are in a house and the neighbors are not too close. If dogs bark inside, it does not bother anyone.
But when they go outside to their fenced area, they tend to bark, and it has increased.
They obey when told not to bark but soon continue. If I was outside with them, it would not be a problem. But they are in their area on their own (while I’m inside the house) and I can’t tell them to stop all the time. Even though they do not stay outside without me for more than 10 minutes, they bark too much. At least I think so.
Luckily there are devices to help.
Today I ordered an anti-bark device from China. It operates on batteries as it would be just too risky to plug something from China to the electricity.
So I’m hoping the barking to decrease. I know it won’t stop for good and there is no need for that. The barking keeps the chickens safe (no bobcats etc) and keeps the uninvited visitors away.
